'Layers & Nodes: A compilation of new AI production' is a VA compilation and project that provided access to AI tools and generated audio to encourage new contemporary works from some of the most forward thinking artists across modern day so called Australia.
The compilation's custom made and curated content/models took around 500 hours of Nvidia A100 GPU processing time and utilised open source and community made notebooks based off of AudioLDM 2, OpenAI’s Jukebox, Talknet, Archinet’s audio Diffusion Pytorch, Harmonai’s Dance Diffusion and RAVE.
It's the hope of this compilation to help demystify and encourage of the use of AI technology creatively in audio production by a wider community than the traditionally tech centric demographics of today. Allowing culture to help shape this early developing technology before it develops far enough to universally change the way we work.
All proceeds made on this album are donated to Pay The Rent.
All tracks recorded, written and mixed by respective artists except track 2 mixed by Geryon, tracks 3, 4 and 11 mixed by Guy Louis Faletolu.

Whilst we did our best to ensure all data used for this project was collected and used as ethically as possible, we recognise the technology used to make this compilation stands on the shoulders of giants bigger than we could ever comprehend. I began learning to train and generate AI content in late 2021, since then i’ve made hundreds of experiments and have finally come to making one I’d love to share. AI JUNGLE is a collection of Jungle style drum breaks generated from a model trained on thousands of iterations of famous and classic breaks. The sample pack contains breaks from various levels of the model’s learning, development and execution as well as a small batch of randomly Interpolated breaks.
The samples and model training were made using Harmonai Finetune + Dance Diffusion.
This pack is free to download and use as you like. If you’re savvy with Dance Diffusion and you’d like to experiment with or build upon the training behind this project you can download checkpoint files for the model at 28k steps and 42k steps respectively for yourself with the .CKPT files above.
